Jessica Alba Shares How Small Changes Make a Better World at LANDMARK – LANDMARK introduces Bring Your Own initiative as part of ‘A Year of Something New’

Hong Kong, 2nd June, 2018 – Jessica Alba, the globally recognised entrepreneur, advocate, actress and mother of three, was in Hong Kong yesterday to lend her voice to LANDMARK’s ‘A Year of Something New’ campaign. Jessica Alba shared her thoughts on how everyone can make small changes in their lives which contribute to a better world.

The forum is one of a series of events and activities hosted by LANDMARK throughout the year as part of ‘A Year of Something New’. The bold campaign listens to ‘New Voices’, encourages ‘New Commitments’ and explores ‘New Ideas’ with the aim to enlighten, influence and inspire customers to consider a world of new possibilities, within the context of LANDMARK as the ultimate arbitrator of a refined and sophisticated lifestyle.

“It is hard to be happy if you are not healthy,” the eco-conscious entrepreneur said. “When I started my own company, my goal was to keep my daughter safe, so that she can experience the best and healthiest life. When you have a healthy life, you can spend it with people that you love most, your family, your friends – and this is what makes me happy.”

Jessica Alba was speaking to audiences that span over two floors with more than 800 LANDMARK guests as part of a forum to explore what it means to have a healthy lifestyle as a modern urbanite and citizen of the world.

She was joined by Richard Ekkebus, Culinary Director at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong; Luke Grana, Founder of innovative Hong Kong apparel start-up Grana; and Sharie Ross, Co-founder and Director of global wellness company Reviv. With host Sean Fitzpatrick, Chief Content Officer and Managing Director of Edipresse Media, Hong Kong, the four influencers discussed how food, fashion and wellness is evolving in ways that honour quality and craftsmanship and prioritize both the individual and the environment.

Bring Your Own initiative

As a practical example of how we can all contribute to a better future for our planet and community by cutting down on plastic waste, LANDMARK launched the ‘Bring Your Own’ (BYO) initiative to encourage customers to bring reusable containers for food-to-go from their favourite LANDMARK restaurants.

Customers who bring a container to participating LANDMARK restaurants* during June will receive a HK$5 discount on their takeaway order. LANDMARK will also donate HK$5 to The Green Earth for every order using a reusable container. Based in Hong Kong, The Green Earth promotes sustainability through education, policy advocacy and corporate partnership programmes.

LANDMARK reusable mugs and lunchboxes are also available for purchase from special vending machines, with mugs costing HK$110 and two styles of lunchbox costing HK$270 and HK$320 respectively.

The vending machines are located at LANDMARK at LG/F, Jardine House (Near DELI AND WINE); 3/F, LANDMARK ATRIUM (Near URBAN BAKERY WORKS); and 3/F, LANDMARK PRINCE’s (Near Wise-Kids).

“LANDMARK’s ‘A Year of Something New’ is an opportunity to experience new and more sustainable ways of living that enrich a sophisticated life. We are delighted that Jessica Alba was able to join us to engage and inspire our community with her thoughts on living a healthy, empowered and eco-conscious life as well as supporting our BYO campaign with LANDMARK restaurants.” said Mr Raymond Chow, Executive Director of Hongkong Land.
